Journal History

Tanwirul: Journal of Islamic Education was established in 2026 by CV Ardi Justitia Akademika as a peer-reviewed and open-access scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and critical discourse in the field of Islamic education. The journal was founded in response to the growing need for a high-quality academic publication platform that promotes the integration of Islamic educational values with contemporary educational theories, technological innovation, and global educational developments.

The name "Tanwirul" is derived from the Arabic word tanwīr, meaning enlightenment or illumination. This philosophy reflects the journal's commitment to disseminating scientific knowledge that contributes to intellectual development, educational reform, and the advancement of Islamic education at national and international levels.

Since its establishment, Tanwirul has adopted a rigorous double-blind peer review process and upholds the principles of transparency, academic integrity, publication ethics, and editorial independence in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, and conceptual papers covering a broad range of topics, including Islamic education, Islamic pedagogy, curriculum reform, educational leadership, educational policy, quality assurance, digital transformation, artificial intelligence in education, educational technology, online learning, character education, akhlaq education, Islamic psychology, multicultural education, inclusive education, Wasatiyyah, and Islamic higher education.

As part of its long-term development strategy, Tanwirul: Journal of Islamic Education is committed to continuous quality improvement through international editorial standards, professional manuscript management, ethical publishing practices, and broad dissemination of scholarly works.
