Publication Process
Ardi Pengabdian Masyarakat implements a transparent, rigorous, and fair editorial process to ensure the quality, originality, and integrity of every published article. Each manuscript undergoes several stages before publication.
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit manuscripts electronically through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS). Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal's author guidelines, formatting requirements, publication ethics, and submission policies.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary evaluation to determine whether the manuscript:
- Falls within the journal's focus and scope.
- Complies with the author guidelines and manuscript template.
- Meets publication ethics requirements.
- Demonstrates sufficient academic quality.
- Contains all required metadata and supporting documents.
Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or declined before peer review.
3. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software.
The journal applies the following similarity standards:
- Maximum Overall Similarity Index: 25%
- Maximum Similarity from a Single Source: 5%
Manuscripts exceeding these thresholds may be returned for revision or rejected.
4. Double-Blind Peer Review
Eligible manuscripts proceed to the Double-Blind Peer Review process, where both authors' and reviewers' identities remain anonymous.
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript.
Reviewers assess:
- Originality
- Relevance
- Scientific quality
- Methodological rigor
- Community engagement
- Innovation
- Practical contribution
- Community impact
- Clarity of presentation
5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept without revision
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and reviewers' evaluations.
6. Revision Stage
Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewers' and editors' comments.
Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a detailed response explaining how each comment has been addressed.
If necessary, revised manuscripts may undergo an additional round of peer review.
7. Final Acceptance
Once all revisions have been satisfactorily completed, the Editor-in-Chief issues the final acceptance decision.
Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage.
8. Copyediting
Professional copyeditors review the accepted manuscript to improve:
- Grammar
- Language quality
- Academic writing style
- Citation consistency
- Reference formatting
- Overall readability
No substantive changes are made without the authors' approval.
9. Layout Editing and Proofreading
The manuscript is formatted according to the journal's publication style.
Authors receive page proofs for final review before publication and are responsible for identifying any typographical or formatting errors.
10. Online Publication
The final version of the article is published on the journal's website and assigned:
- Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
- Article metadata
- Citation information
Published articles become immediately accessible under the journal's Open Access policy.
11. Indexing and Archiving
Published articles are indexed and archived according to the journal's indexing and preservation policies to ensure long-term accessibility, discoverability, and preservation.
