Aims and Scope

The primary aim of Lexa: Journal of Legal Studies is to foster intellectual discourse and disseminate innovative legal theories, comparative studies, and comprehensive legal problem-solving frameworks. The scope of the journal encompasses various critical dimensions of legal studies, including but not limited to:

  1. Private Law: Contract law, family law, inheritance law, and property law.
  2. Criminal Law: Criminal policy, sentencing, penology, and the criminal justice system.
  3. Health Law: Healthcare service regulation, patient rights, medical malpractice, hospital law, pharmacy regulations, and national or global health policy.
  4. Constitutional Law: Constitutionalism, state institutional frameworks, and democratic structures.
  5. Administrative Law: Good governance, public licensing law, and judicial review of administrative actions.
  6. International Law: Public international law, international treaties, international humanitarian law, and human rights protection.
  7. Business & Economic Law: Corporate law, investment frameworks, and anti-monopoly or competition law.
  8. Customary & Local Law: Living law in Indonesian society, customary law mechanisms, and local legal wisdom.
  9. Philosophy & Theory of Law: Legal thoughts, jurisprudence, legal hermeneutics, and legal reform initiatives.

Publication Frequency

Lexa: Journal of Legal Studies publishes 3 (three) issues per year. The issues are scheduled for release in:

  • Issue 1: February

Peer Review Process

Every submitted manuscript undergoes a rigorous evaluation process. Initial screening is conducted by the Editorial Board to assess compliance with the journal’s focus, scope, and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subsequently assigned to independent international and national reviewers for a double-blind peer review. This ensures academic integrity, objectivity, and high-quality standards for all published material.
